Control
From Chosen Space Wiki
Control is based on number and size of starships a faction or government has in a sector.
Your faction needs to be in control of a sector in order to build outposts such as refineries, dry docks, space docks, manufactories or shipyards.
Sector control is also important for players who want to be the Ruler of the Galaxy.
Controlling a Sector
In order to control a sector, a faction needs to accumulate at least 1,500 control points. For every hour a pilot of that faction stays in the sector, the control value of the ship used by the pilot is added to the total faction control value.
Control is based on the size and value of ships - a MS-200, for example, would only be worth 200 control, while a larger ship offers more. Bonuses are also given if the ship is the leader of the faction (a leader in a Mark XI will have a control of 1,200, while a regular XI will be much less.)
Once enough ships are in a sector, the faction begins fighting for it. Once a faction has begun fighting for the sector, it can leave and try and take another - but their control will no longer increase.
After 24 hours (14.40CE), the sector will go to whoever has the most control points. Keeping ships on sectors at any controlled or contested sector will add the total amount of control the ships have every hour.
