Planet Leader

In order to become leader of a planet, you must first win an election on the planet. Whoever has the highest popularity on the planet and is running for election will win the election.

When you win an election, you are able to determine what type of government you would like to create. You can choose from Empire, Republic or Council.

As a planetary leader, the "my faction" or "create faction" button is replaced by "My Government". This will be where you will make all government decisions. From here you have multiple choices which I will explain below.

--Comms Board This is where you are able to read your planetary comments board.

--Most Wanted This is where you can see the most wanted list on your planet. From here you can hire bounty hunters to either attack or destroy people on your most wanted list. Allowing people on your most wanted list without doing anything will cause your government popularity to drop, possibly jeopardizing your chances of winning the next election. Also by clicking on percentage of their negative popularity, you are able to see what they have done within your systems.

--Tax Rates From here you can change your income tax and sales tax rates anywhere from one to ten percent. Any tax revenue that you bring in is added to the government fund, which you will have access to for placing bounties, possibly building starbases and even transfering to your own personal account.

--Edit Transfers This is where you are able to send yourself (or others) money from the government account.

--Edit Controlled From here you can sell off sectors that you control or build Outposts on sectors you control.

--Edit Description This is where you describe your government for other players to read. Go into as much or as little detail as you want. It's your government!

--Edit Information This is where you add information about your government that only members of your government can read.

--Edit Symbol You can add a picture to be displayed when people click on your link and a smaller version of the same picture to be displayed under the Quadrant View. Files must be in .gif format and must be resized to be 80x80 pixels for the larger picture and 16x16 for the smaller. An image editing software should allow you to do this.

--Empire Settings From here you can change the access that your second and third in command have. If you only want them to have access to changing the description, you can change it here. if you want to let them change everything you can, this is where to give them authorization.

--Disband Empire This is where you would end your reign as the planetary leader if you no longer wanted the job.

--Allegiances You can change who you pledge allegiance to in this area. You can only pledge allegiance to one government or faction. Take careful note of the dues they may charge you for pledging allegiance to them if they are a faction. You can also set dues on Allegiances to you here.

--Leave Empire This where you can leave your position as a planetary leader but still allow your government to function. Your second in command would then become leader.
